The Shameless.

Like the sun, they come and they go.
They sat, they ate, they wrapped and we blow.

It was years before they made any move.
Long after we were called family;
Not sisters, nor brothers, but friends who wore a stamp of repute.

And ages before I realized,
I had lost my family and the cloth on my back too.

But now I sit, just to wallow, and to beg for bread too.
Can I get a piece of bread, ma'am? Or your neatest rags, sir?

I see them sneer and see them jeer, and see them point their talons for fingers at me.

Et tu Brute?

I am living, but yet to conquer.
Perhaps I will today, perhaps I will tomorrow. Or maybe I never will.

Yet, gladly I'll wear my badge of betrayal for all to see,

My sham of a life,
For truly, you cannot shame the shameless.
