Welcome to your world

I just joined Medium this evening and know nothing yet about what you all do or say or paint or photograph. But I intend to study many sites before I write my blog posts. I was too long ago on Open Salon and I loved that blog place and the many people who are still friends all of whom I met there.

The reason for wanting to blog after such a long time is that since Trump’s election night I, with my best friend, travel for 2–3 weeks every six weeks. We have been all over Europe and now are heading to Australia. That will be especially interesting as my dad has a huge family there, none of whom I know.

I also have been a mideast journalist in Israel and mostly Palestine, and that is a subject never far from my mind. My other interests are reading a lot and carefully and writing a lot if not as good as once I was. I am 70 years old and age is another topic I will probably give its due. Also mothering which lately has been rough, and loving others which is a constant for me. I no longer follow politics but I am an active member of DFA led by the great Jim Dean, brother of Howard — though nothing like him — who directs me who to support and so far it’s been good necessary wins.

I just returned to writing a book long left in my drawers as I got inspired last night and no doubt I will write about how that goes. More I cannot say except I will be reading many of you and getting a sense of what Medium does best. Thanks for listening, Wendy Orange
