This fall I will be entering as a freshman at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. I will be studying Psychology with a minor in Child Life/Family Studies. I chose this school because it was close to home, it did not have too big of a student body, and mostly because of its amazing Psychology program. Also, not many schools have the detailed minor of Child Life/Family Studies but Endicott has this as a minor. I am currently saving for college by working at Lifetime Fitness in Framingham, Massachusetts within the Kids’ Academy. This is a place where parents may drop off their children while they workout. In addition to working at the Kids’ Academy, I have worked in other places of employment over the past few years in order to save money to attend college.

At an early age, my parents taught to me that being kind, helpful and giving to others were essential life values. Using these values are a way to make a difference in all that we do and how we conduct ourselves. In addition to this lesson, it is just part of my nature to want to help others. This ultimately can be seen by what I am planning to study in college. I always have been drawn to children and their happiness. My first and main goal is to go off to college and then eventually earn a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work. Afterwards, my plan is to become a Child Life Specialist. This profession is where you help children reach the best versions of themselves even with the struggles that they may be enduring, such as Cancer and other chronic ailments. Putting a smile on their faces, and to help them feel like any other kid is so very important.

I am a very hardworking and dedicated person with my school work as well as outside of school. Friendliness, kindness and offering a helping hand to anyone in whatever they may need is the backbone of my personality. My goal is to work at either Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts or Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a Child Life Specialist. I believe that I can forge forward and make a difference for these children.
