Today I learned that sometimes when you create a link, you may need to add a <p> tag in order to get the link text to do what you want it to do.

2. How would you implement a web design comp that uses non-standard fonts?

You could use services such as google webfonts to link the font to the html document and have it load on the webpage. You can also download the font as a file and link it to the html document from your computer.

3. Have you used or implemented media queries or mobile specific layouts/CSS? Describe what you know.

Media Queries can allow us to change the layout dependent on screen size. Screen is a commonly used media query type because when we set a “max-width” for our design we can allow to browser to adjust to the optimal layout. We should have at least two media queries. Depending on the initial design focus there should be at least 2 media queries: One for mobile devices such as phones, one for tablets, and/or one for a desktop.

4. What’s the difference between “resetting” and “normalizing” CSS? Which would you choose, and why?

A reset is when you remove all styling from your webpage including defaults. Margins, padding and font-size will remain the same for all elements. Normalizing keeps the default styling for elements. As an example, font-sizing will not necessarily be the same for all text elements, but it will be the same for <h1> elements.
