In our life, we come across many situations where we might want to have conversations with people may it be a social gathering, a family dinner, a visit to a distant relative, or simply a date. Most of us fail to maintain a lively conversation. So here are 5 Tricks that will take your conversation game to the next level.

Before looking at these 5 tricks keep in mind your aim for this conversation. (Whether you want a romantic relationship, a casual talk, a business deal, or just a new friend)

The truth about us humans is that we love to talk about the thing we like the most and guess what, we love ourselves the most (Yes we are one of the most self-obsessed creatures on this planet) and so we love talking about ourselves.

Having known this fact now you know the spell, make the other person talk about themselves. So how to spark that? It’s simple, start with cliché yet full-proof questions like What’s your story? , What brings you to this heaven? (At a library), etc.

2. Play safe with questions.

Do not ask questions about RELIGION, POLITICAL opinions, and other controversial topics. Topics like Instagram, Youtube, Travel, etc. are considered safe topics because the majority will have interesting stuff to share about them in these domains.

3. Find something in common and talk about it.

Using the above steps you might come to know at least one, common topic if not more. This is your pivot for further conversations. Now go forward and talk about it.

4. Talk about the things you love or they love.

A person will keep on talking for hours about the topic they are passionate about. More common passions may include traveling, reading, sports, workouts, etc. Just the needed thing is the right question and it will set off an amazing rapport and a great conversation will follow.

5. Tell a good story.

Of course, the other person won’t do all the talking. When the time comes and you need to take things into your hand be sure you do justice to the topic you talk about. So for this learn to be a good storyteller and you don’t need any 10-hour course to be a good storyteller. Here is a 5 step process to deliver your stories like a pro and charm your listener.

So as always as a token of thanks for sticking up till the end I have a bonus tip.

To be a good conversationalist is it important to be a good listener, So the ultimate advice to be a good listener is to be genuinely interested in people, put away your mobile phone, give the speaker your undivided attention.

So not finally the bonus tip is:

Appreciate them for a unique and precise thing like not looks but makeup/Perfume, and they will start talking about that and the related story, Listen closely and you might find other ways to talk with branching stories and connecting topics.
